VaniClips turns a podcast episode into short vertical clips. Upload your video file, up to 2.5 hours and 3 GB. VaniClips finds strong moments, crops them to 9:16 and adds captions. How it picks clips

  • We turn the speech into a transcript and split it into overlapping stretches of about 90 seconds (longer if you choose longer clips).
  • Google's Gemini reads each stretch and rates how well it would work on its own as a short, mainly whether its first two seconds would make a new viewer keep watching.
  • The top-rated stretches get a second pass that cuts the clips, each aiming to open on its strongest moment, make sense without the rest of the video, and not cut a word in half.
  • Clips that make the same point or overlap a lot are dropped, and longer videos get more clips.
  • It works from what is said, not what is shown (a video with no speech is picked from its frames instead), so check each clip before you post.

How minutes work

One minute is one minute of your source video, rounded up. A 40-minute episode uses 40 minutes. A full 2.5-hour episode uses 150. If a job fails and gives you no clips, no minutes are taken.

Good to know

VaniClips is new, and we'd rather be upfront:

  • It works best on English episodes. Captions can need a quick check in the editor.
  • Uploading a file is the main way in. Links from X work today. More sources are coming.
  • The upload limit is 3 GB. A long episode in 1080p can be bigger than that; save a smaller copy first.
